Where do you spend your time between 9am and 6pm? Mostly likely in an office or a space designed for working. So how should that space for work look, feel and be like to spend so much of our time there? Researchers have found that 24-hour-access, flexible as well as permanent desks and involving members in the decisions about the interior design of a space are powerful components in building the perfect co-working space. But is that enough to create a creative frame to enable all participants to collaborate?
Innovation, creative work and urban development are hallmarks of the Berlin community and one key factor is co-working. Community feeling and serendipitous discoveries are main values of members to participate in co-working-spaces. Working should not only be a source and purpose of making money, it should incorporate an individual's well-being.
By hosting the conference of ‘Co-Created Spaces’ we believe that living and working is a collaboration to make you feel comfortable, creative and effective to provide an environment for you to do your best work.
By bringing people from different backgrounds together we will force the exchange of diverse perspectives, professions, and create a collective understanding about co-creating spaces. The conference acts as a network and discussion platform for all participants.
The process will be divided into three different parts of interaction
The first part of the event will be supported by keynotes of invited speakers from our Berlin community about the new work movement.
For the second part we separate the conference into groups of 5-6 people for interactive workshops with the goal of creating a manifesto for co-creative work in spaces.
The achieved results of the group workshops will be presented and discussed with all participants with a following discussion.
Beside the intro from the conference team and our facilitator (tba) the participants will be divided into functional and cross-functional workshop groups to elaborate the topic. The results of the conference will be summarized, analyzed and connected to the research of the master thesis of Lukas Pardylla . Every participant will get a condensed summary of the academic paper or a full version as well if needed.
